Thompson Health Maintains Integration Partnership with Summit Healthcare as they Migrate to McKesson

Summit Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare system integration and workflow automation solutions, announced today it has maintained its partnership with Thompson Health as the as the health system transitioned from Meditech to McKesson.

As a long-time Summit Healthcare customer, Thompson Health felt confident in maintaining its relationship with Summit Healthcare as its trusted integration vendor including their investment in the Summit Express Connect interface engine technology platform. Summit Express Connect will continue to be the foundation for data sharing and interoperability in Thompson’s new system.

Summit Express Connect is uniquely suited to support interoperability regardless of the hospital information systems as it goes beyond just establishing a foundation for integration. The integration technology platform is capable of providing the interface infrastructure needed to enable integration between any HCIS and third party ancillary systems while also providing a foundation to tackle the more strategic interoperability strategies like connecting to an HIE or physician EMR.

When faced with a change in their IT staffing, Thompson Health chose to subscribe to integration outsourcing services from Summit Healthcare. This option allows Thompson Health to offload some interface tasks to a dedicated Summit Healthcare integration engineer who can assist with interface configuration, deployment and management. This model provides Thompson Health with additional expertise, resources and support as it continues to implement and expand its new HCIS.

"After years of partnering with Summit Healthcare to support our Meditech HCIS integration needs it was important that we maintained that same high level of service and trust as we migrated to the new McKesson system," said Mark Halladay, Director of IT Services, Thompson Health. "The Summit Express Connect interface engine provides us with a flexible and robust technology platform to handle any type of integration project that we are faced with. We trust in our relationship with Summit Healthcare and looked no further as we moved our system to McKesson.”

"While we have always worked closely with hospitals running Meditech as their primary HCIS, Summit Healthcare has maintained the position that our technology solutions can adapt to any integration and automation need a hospital is faced with. When Thompson Health made the decision to migrate to the McKesson platform we felt confident that we could support them as their trusted integration vendor partner. We look forward to a long relationship supporting Thompson Health." said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare.
