Summit Healthcare, a leader in healthcare system integration, announced today a partnership with Indigo HIT, a Connecticut based consulting firm that has deep expertise in assisting hospitals with attesting for all stages of Meaningful Use including meeting tighter integration and data exchange demands found in Stage Two.
As countless organizations have shifted their focus on Meaningful Use Stage 2, many organizations are still determining the easiest, most efficient and affordable way to share Continuity of Care Documents (CCD) to meet the Transition of Care requirements. Clarification around the types of transport protocols including an emphasis on Direct Messaging has risen to the forefront including the need to have a Health Information Service Provider (HISP) in place.
Indigo HIT has been delivering much needed guidance to organizations as they work toward Meaningful Use. With the release of the Summit Care Exchange technology, selecting Indigo HIT as a complimentary integration services company provides Summit Healthcare integration clients and the healthcare community with the opportunity to enable streamlined and scalable CCD integration.
The Summit Care Exchange technology provides an integrated Direct Messaging/HISP capability to securely exchange CCD's and support organizations Transition of Care requirements. Summit Care Exchange provides flexible technology to support multiple CCD integration topologies as well as the ability to support bi-directional integration for CCD consumption. Summit CE will position hospitals to communicate with their extended healthcare community including in-network, out-of-network Healthcare Providers and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs).
"Traditionally Summit Healthcare has offered services to complete the technical setup of interfaces for our clients to allow for smooth data exchange between systems. The partnership with Indigo HIT will offer our clients an additional level of service to assist with MU expertise & guidance including areas related to Public Health Reporting Interfaces, CCD/CCDA and application testing services for all appropriate systems that these integration projects touch. We launched Summit Care Exchange to support our clients' needs in meeting their Transition of Care Stage Two requirements around CCD data exchange and feel partnering with Indigo HIT will enable our clients with the best possible success," said Paul Actis, VP Technology, Summit Healthcare.
