Braintree, Mass.,- The Stellaris Health Network, an integrated Network that includes the Lawrence Hospital Center, Northern Westchester Hospital, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and White Plains Hospital Center, recently purchased the Summit Provider Exchange technology solution in an effort to streamline its bi-directional physician office clinical integration efforts.
The primary ambulatory EMR systems at Stellaris Health Network are NextGen and eCW. There is a strategic imperative to clinically integrate the hospital systems with physician offices and the intricacies that arose from bi-directional integration and workflow challenges prompted Stellaris to turn to Summit Healthcare. The Summit Provider Exchange technology in partnership with integration services will support Stellaris through their full thickness integration deployment.
Summit Provider Exchange will provide a streamlined bi-directional solution for a variety of clinical workflow automation needs, including results outbound, orders inbound and inbound ADT into their HIS system. The LAB personnel will greatly benefit from the added control of orders that flow from the physician offices to their department and increase efficiencies all around. The solution will initially be installed at the Lawrence Hospital Center and White Plains Hospital and later at the Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and Northern Westchester Hospital.
Summit Provider Exchange enables effective bi-directional clinical integration between physician offices and hospitals within a care network. The technology allows information to be dispersed between facilities, while also holding information strategically within the system while patients are transitioning between facilities. This ensures orders are held until a patient actually arrives at the hospital for treatment, simplifying many of the administrative tasks that take place when a patient visits a hospital.
"Summit Healthcare emerged as the ideal partner for helping to enhance our clinical integration requirements because the company offers a unique combination of experience and the ability to deliver the technology under a tight deadline," said Sue Prince, CIO, Stellaris Health Network. "As we make the transition to tightly integrating our ambulatory and inpatient clinical practices, we needed to have a provider exchange solution in place that could work with our existing interface engine technologies. Summit Healthcare offered the ability to meet our lab outreach workflow requirements without forcing us to replace our engine, making them the right partner for our needs."
"Summit Provider Exchange is becoming an increasingly important technology for health networks," said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare. "In working with Stellaris, we were able to meet challenging lab outreach workflow needs, helping the organization take a major step forward in operational efficiency and clinical integration."
