Braintree, Mass., - As a leader in the healthcare community, and known for their integration and workflow automation technology, Summit Healthcare was recently chosen as vendor of choice by Pacific Alliance Medical Center during their search for an integration partner.
Pacific Alliance Medical Center (PAMC) is a Los Angeles-based facility focused on delivering services to a diverse population while constantly improving patient care, and the quality of their services. PAMC is comprised of a 138-bed hospital in downtown Los Angeles as well as several clinics in the area which are able to provide both quality and culturally appropriate primary care to the community.
After achieving Meaningful Use Stage 1, PAMC in late 2012 chose to join the Inland Empire Health Information Exchange, a current project through the State of California's Office of Health Information Integrity. With the California HIE initiative on the horizon PAMC determined a need for a scalable, affordable yet reliable solution for integrating their healthcare systems. After an evaluation in the marketplace, PAMC chose the Summit Express Connect interface engine as their technology toolset to aid in in their upcoming health information technology initiatives.
Since the go live of the Summit Express Connect interface engine in April, PAMC has been able to leverage their interface investment in numerous ways. They are currently live and converting all of the 29 live interfaces to Summit, and an additional 33 test interfaces, and processing over 4,300 messages daily. New interfaces are being added monthly, and they are in the process of connecting all vital sign monitoring devices. Summit Express Connect has also been responsible for enabling the connection between their HCIS and over 18 destination systems while their Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) interface is currently being split and delivered to 12 separate destinations.
"The investment we made in the Summit Express Connect interface engine has paid off two-fold. We were able to connect our HCIS to all of our ancillary systems, we have successfully achieved Meaningful Use Stage 1, and began participation in the California HIE initiatives," said John D. Brown, Chief Information Officer, Pacific Alliance Medical Center. "Summit Healthcare has given us the tools needed to succeed, and we continue to value their knowledge and expertise."
"We are thrilled that Summit Express Connect is a success for Pacific Alliance Medical Center," said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare. "Not only has the interface engine improved this hospital from an operational standpoint, they have successfully achieved Meaningful Use Stage 1, and continue to be an integral part of regional HIE initiatives. We are proud to be part of Pacific Alliance Medical Center's success, and look forward to a prosperous partnership."
